In the mid afternoon, the box assignment was dispatched to Chevy Chase Village, for a report of fire. The home was located within a mile from Fire Station #6 in Downtown Bethesda. Crews arrived to find heavy fire coming from a home that was under construction. Additional units were quickly added to the initial dispatch due to the concern of fire spreading to homes in the neighborhood, which are spaced very close to one another.

By the time the fire had reached third alarm levels, Engine 710 and Truck 710 had been added to the call to assist with the fire. Although the fire did spread to an adjacent home, crews worked aggressively to attack the fire from the outside, then make their way in the homes to prevent the fire from doing any further damage.

According to Bethesda Now, the fire caused in excess of $1,000,000 worth of damage.
