A fire mid-afternoon Monday brought in firefighters from Rockville, Cabin John, Bethesda, Bethesda-Chevy Chase, and Kensington as well as support units from Silver Spring. At a couple minutes past four in the afternoon, the alarm bells sounded for a working structure fire on Willow Green Court, in the Falls Chapel neighborhood in Potomac (Rockville VFD Co. 33′s First Due). A chief from Rockville VFD went on scene with heavy fire showing (as seen in photo) and immediately called for a Task Force and ordered all units to begin defensive operations. Tactics focused on initially protecting exposures then beginning a transitional attack by knocking down the fire from the exterior then moving to the interior.
At this time, no injuries have been reported, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
