On the evening of Feb 27, not long after returning to quarters from another traffic accident requiring extrication on River Road, Engine 710 was dispatched to River Rd and Pyle Rd for a personal injury collision with entrapment along with Medic 741D and Rescue Squad 741 from Bethesda-Chevy Chase Rescue Squad. Truck 710 was immediately added as an additional extrication piece and Chief 741 took command and quickly added more EMS units and eventually an EMS task force, including Ambulance 710, Medic 730, Medic 741, Ambulance 741B, and EMS Duty Officer 701. Paramedic Engine 706 was added for manpower and an additional Paramedic. Extrication was performed by Truck 710 and Rescue Squad 741 while the EMS units triaged and found six patients. One bystander with a minor injury, two priority 1 trauma patients, and three priority 4 (deceased) patients were assessed.
