Throughout the year, Montgomery County Fire and Rescue’s Public Safety Training Academy (PSTA) offers many classes for our firefighters to take ranging from Firefighter/EMT basic training to more advance classes such as Technical Rescue and Emergency Vehicle Operator Courses. Recently, several members were recognized at a “graduation” ceremony for the classes they had successfully completed. The ceremony involved many of Montgomery County Fire-Rescue’s leadership and instructors offering their congratulations and wisdom for a successful career as a volunteer.

At the ceremony, the following Cabin John Park VFD members were recognized:

  •  Members completing EMT-Basic:
    • Reider Borges
    • Laila El-Hifnawi
    • Parsa Fallahi
    • David Hanson
    • Robert Myers
    • Tyler Thornton
  • Members completing Firefighter Levels 1 & 2:
    • William Pack
    • Justin Baker

These eight members represent eight new potential minimum staffing personnel for the department, meaning they will have the minimum requirements needed to staff apparatus and become significant assets for years to come!
