“To Become a Live IN member”

CJPVFD provides many benefits to those who serve.  One benefit is the opportunity to become a live in member.  In exchange for service as an EMT and/or Firefighter you will receive a free place to live.  You will be provided a bunk and locker and an area to store your personal belongings.  In addition, CJPVFD has cable TV, wireless internet, a study area, and potential FULL tuition reimbursement for classes related to Fire Science at Montgomery College through the Maryland Tuition Reimbursement Program. However, you need not be enrolled in the Fire Science program to be a live in member.

The Live in program at CJPVFD has been very successful for us.  Historically, we have had members come from New Jersey, Indiana, Pennsylvania and beyond and some have transitioned into careers in Montgomery County and the District of Columbia.  The benefits to being a Live In member are numerous.  By living at the station, you are given the opportunity to gain significant experience by being readily available to ride fire or medical apparatus.  You are also eligible for reimbursement for the cost of your meals, free parking and an opportunity to see a side of the fire/rescue service that others may not.
